Hiding only selected columns for a particular month

Hi All,

I have a number of measure names for each month in my cost report - for example, I am looking at spend, volume and spend per unit for each month in 2016.

I also want to included Dec'15 in the report (standard cost reference), however, I want to hide spend and volume and keep only spend per unit. If I try to hide these, it hides these measure names for the other months in my report too. How can I just hide for Dec'15?

Be most grateful for any input!

Please upload a Tableau Packaged Workbook including sample data so we can replicate.

Hi Tom.

Unfortunately company restrictions prevents me from uploading any files

However, I think my issue may be able to be answered without it - if I have 3 measure names per month, how can I hide 2 of the measure names only for Dec'15? Currently, if I try to hide 2 of the Dec'15 measure names, it hides all the other months too.

Just thought does this screen shot help to explain better? Basically for Dec'15, I want to show only GBP per Unit.

I don't think it's possible, but I can't say exactly without seeing how your data is structured. I'm guessing each of those 'columns' below the month reads from the Measure Name dimension. In which case, it's not possible to hide Spend and Shipment Volume in December without hiding it in the others.

Hi Rekha,

Thanks a lot for this, it certainly helps in my aim to hide just one measure name in a certain month...ideally would love to find a solution to completely hide the column though so I'll keep the conversation open in case someone has found the magical answer!
