I could be wrong, but this is what I think that you're trying to achieve:
http://onlinehelp.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-us/help.htm#dashboards_sheet_selector.html
If not, maybe you could attach a packaged workbook, or some screenshots as an example.
Let us know if this helps.

Hi Suvas,
You actually have a few options here. In versions previous to 10.0 you would have to use a parameter. Before I get into the solution I want to identify one item that is missing from your post. For these 2 visualizations, are they both built off the same data source or different data sources? If different data sources, then skip to the next paragraph. If they are the same then a quick filter will suffice.
I have attached a v10.1 workbook that shows you the solutions discussed below.
Data Blending - previous to v10.0 you could use data blending to utilize a single quick filter to filter data across views built from different data sources. This is not difficult to do, but does involve a few steps. The most important is to ensure your quick filter comes from the primary data source. This is not my favorite or best performance option. If you want more details here, please reply and I can post the details.
Using a parameter - this was necessary previous to v10.0 as we did not have the option of cross data source filters. See the link below on how to set up the parameters.
Filtering Across Multiple Data Sources Using a Parameter | Tableau Software
Using v10.0+ - you can implement cross data source filters to use a single quick filter across views built from different data sources.

suvas.chandra Nov 14, 2016 7:48 AM (in response to suvas.chandra)It works. It is the same data source and version 9.3.
One more question: How do I add filter in the dashboard ?
For example, a dashboard is already built. Now I need to display a filter from one of the worksheets in the dashboard. Filter is already available in the worksheet. How do I do this ?

In this case, you'd want to mark the one that was correct, along with any others that may have been helpful as well.
Feel free to post a new question regarding the X-Axis Formula, if you haven't already and I'm sure we can help you out with that as well.

Suvas -- Attached is a workbook like the one we used to make the video Don linked. It's Version 8.2, but will upgrade to whatever version you are on. We pop out the respective legend for the selected sheet based on what parameter value the user chooses. You'll want to float the containers to make this work. But they can float over a tiled dashboard if that's how the rest of your dashboard is designed.
