403's on Tableau Server are typically authentication issues. Do you have SSL enabled? The folder structure may have changed removing your SSL certificate from the Tableau Folders. You should also verify the Run As User has the proper permissions: Required Run As User Account Settings
Hey Nathan, thanks for the quick reply!
Do you have SSL enabled? No
The Run As User have proper permissions? Yes It's the same user I've been executing the 9.x installation, no changes. Double checked the rights to log on as a service too.
With Tableau 10, the folder changed from C:\program file\tableau\tableau server\9.3 to C:\program file\tableau\tableau server\10.0 - I would double check that folder as well.
This may be best suited as a case for Tableau Technical Support. There are a lot of factors that could be in play and an investigation into the Server logs is likely necessary. Submit a case to our support team | Tableau Software
Checked the folder, no problem there.
We bought Tableau from a local reseller, going to contact them for the support.
I Will come back here to leave the response/solution for the case.
Thanks again for the help.
Did you get a resolution on this issue? I am using trusted auth and concerned about the upgrade, especially if things are going to break.
Any info you can provide will be most appreciated.
I'm currently waiting on the technical support.
As soon as they provide an answer I will post it here.
Thanks for the quick response. I really appreciate it. I'm anxious to see what you find out.
I can help with one-off issues but am unable to assist with specific cases. You can reply to the case email and ask for a status report from the Technical Support Engineer assigned to the case or you can engage your sales rep who can reach out to the Technical Support Department and engage the team from there.
We are upgrading our Tableau server 9.1.1 to Tableau server 10. Need your suggestions . what are the important things we have to consider when we upgrade to Tableau 10. DO you have any issues or bottlenecks when you are upgrading Tableau 10. What are the benefits you found after upgrading to tableau server.
Can you please point all these things. it would be very beneficial to the community.
apart from the issue i've mentioned on this thread i didn't have any other complain about Tableau 10. The new web authoring, with panel creation\editing is the top feature I think.
I don't have any bottleneck about performance, we run in a really small VM (4 cores, 12GB of RAM). For our number of users (about 70~80, with no more than 10 concurrent) it does the job quite well.

The support told me this is a bug in Tableau 10. There is a workaround where you can set the trusted ticked to unrestricted mode with these steps:
tabadmin set wgserver.unrestricted_ticket true
The solution for the bug will be in the next versions of Tableau Server, I will come back here to link the specific version.
Be aware that, when using unrestricted tickets, the user is not limited to a single view like they would be with restricted tickets (the default). They can check out other views and navigate the server as if they had logged into the server on the login screen with the username specified on the ticket request. So, permissions still apply as normal, but it's a functional difference to be aware of.
