If I have a workbook with 7 sheets, where each one has its own live connection to a database.
I am publishing to Tableau Server 9.2.
Is it better to join the sheets, and just use a single live connection to a database?
I know server versions after 9 will have parallel connections to a DB... but not sure whether I should expect any change in speed.
thanks
What are you connecting to? Is there any data/relation overlap? What was the reason you went with multiple connections in the first place?
Answer is "it depends" but most likely single connection will be faster since there's less metadata querying, higher chance of hitting the cache etc.
