Setting the colour of the text is not possible as you are already putting your measure into colour.
However, here's a nice workaround by Jonathan Drummey from a previous thread which might work for you:

Smart colors may also be dependent on the size of the underlying shape and
size of the font. Some adjustments to those may resolve the issue:

Turns out the suggestion posted by Rusty Mills resolved my issue - unchecking the "Allow labels to overlap other marks" turned the automatic font adjustment back on (so the font automatically turned white against a darker background).
