# Educational Brain Teaser : Fun with Measure Value Formatting

Hello Community!

We haven't had a Brain Teaser posted in a while, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

The Goal.....Add a KPI indicator to [Difference] => ( ZN(SUM([Sales])) - LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Sales])), -1) ), for all relevant values, and a N/A for the first partition.

Note that [Difference] is a continuous measure....

As always, please rate on a scale of 1 - 5.

Best regards,

Rody

Simon Runc want to kick things off?

Hi Rody,

I am really curious to know how you were able to display the indicator only in Difference row and not in Sales Row.. and also displaying NA for null is trickiest part.

Thanks,

Srini

I'm fascinated and completely stumped. Waiting for the smart folks to show up and school me.

Hey guys!

I'm going to wait a few days before I give out the answer (Hoping some people jump in and give their solutions!).

But if you can't wait till then...email me at Rodyzakovich@gmail.com and I'll tell you.

hi Rody,

Yes very nice challenge...I've got the first bit

Which btw is a very nice trick!!...now the 'N/A' part has stumped me!

Can't rate it yet...but looking like a 5 atm!!!...I'll keep the grey cell's ticking this one over! (it doesn't usually help, but occasionally they do surprise me!!! )

Woohoo! Done.

Nice challenge Rody. It is not very trivial when you first see it but I did try quite a bit to get to it. Mark (you are missing decimals and the dollar sign) and Simon (you are missing the decimals) couldn't resist mentioning.

Also forgot to rate it. I would say a 3. Neither easy (when you first see it) nor difficult (when you understand what to do).

That was great Pooja!!

Could you please upload the workbook. So that we ll see how you did it.

I give this a rating of a 3 for difficulty but a 5 for driving me crazy.  Took a lot longer to figure out than what one should have spent on a Friday night.

Thank you Rody for the teaser. Gave it 2.5

Could be 5 without any prior knowledge from community.

Yours,

Yuri
