I know this is an old question but since I have the same question and I don't see an answer, I'm bringing it up again. Is there a way to reset child filters to (All) when choosing a new parent filter?
I have Country, State/Province, and City columns in a hierarchy. Each is a filter, and each is a single-select drop down quick filter. I've set them to "Only relevant values" so selecting "USA" as a country will correctly filter State/Province to show states in the US, and selecting "Michigan" will correctly filter City to show only cities in Michigan. However, when I select "USA", "Michigan" and "Detroit", and then later select "Brazil", the "Michigan" and "Detroit" filters remain, even though they are no longer valid, resulting in an empty chart.
Is there a way to fix this behavior so that when sub-filters are no longer valid, they default to (All)?
I'd also like to ask for an answer to this - would be extremely helpful!
Yes it is Possible.
We need to use Action filters to perform reset of the Filters. Below are Quick steps to do it
Create Tab by name 'Reset' in the worksheet - This would be your Reset button in the dashboard
Go to Worksheet option in the Dashboard then select action filters
Select Add action and choose filter tab
Go to Source Sheet and select the Tab 'Reset' sheet for which the action has to be performed
Go Target sheet and select the sheets where the filters are applied.
Select Selected fields and select add filters options and include all the field where the filters has to be applied.
Press ok. and click the Reset button.
