1. Re: multiple filters not working
Venkat Madan Nov 27, 2014 2:10 AM (in response to Jessy Cool)that is because when you select Furniture, there will be very few sub-categories related to Furniture. so when you select other sub-categories which are related to Furniture the data wont get filtered because already Furniture is one level above sub category so already the data got filtered so even if you select them under sub-category there wont be any changes in the data.
when you hover the filter you will see four horizontal lines to show fewer values you can select that option try filtering the data you will get to know why the data behavior.

5. Re: multiple filters not working
Venkat Madan Nov 27, 2014 2:35 AM (in response to Jessy Cool)Jessy you need to know about hierarchies in the data, which is the higher level and which is lower level, if you have selected one higher level then even if you the select the next level data, the data wont get filtered. so please know the level's of each filter you have used then you will understand why the data is behaving the way you see now

10. Re: multiple filters not working
juliette.mccormack Nov 27, 2014 4:14 AM (in response to Jessy Cool)Hi Jessy
You've made your selection in the filters: Technology, Computer Peripherals, Small Box, Acco Keyboard. You will notice that these filters show on the filter card:
However, when you add Furniture you have identified that no other products show up in your list. The reason is that your selection of Furniture only effects the Product Category filter. All the other filters remain:
As there are no furniture products which meet those criteria, nothing extra is shown. You will need to reset the filters (initially change them back to All) for sub-category, container and name for additional products to show up in your list. You can then make another choice.
Best Wishes
Juliette

Jessy Cool Nov 27, 2014 4:24 AM (in response to juliette.mccormack)Thank you juliette....so i came to conclusion that in tableau you need to always reset filters to go for next level selection and there is no direct way.
