Postgres "workgroup" database is open and documented

    Rick Kunkel

As of 8.2.5 (11/20/2014), there is a new Postgres (repository) user named "readonly" that can be enabled.  It allows read-only access to the entire postgres "workgroup" database, instead of just the views and "hist" tables.

Note: Per the Product Help, "many of the tables are intended primarily to support the functioning of Tableau Server and may be changed or removed without warning. This means that views created from these tables can break when the database structure is changed."

Rejoice, and let the custom admin views floodgate open!
