http://kb.tableausoftware.com/articles/knowledgebase/view-filters-url describes the breakdown of a URL and what each part of the URL represents:
The basic URL pattern to open a Tableau view from a server is:
If http://server/views/SIC/Monthly?Asset=A%20Unit is the URL for monthly, wouldn't it reason that for daily it would be:
Where whatever follows /SIC/... is the tab or sheet name?
Yes but I need both worksheets filtered from whichever link they come in on. So if they come in from your link: http://server/views/SIC/Daily?Asset=A%20Unit the Daily sheet is filtered for the asset but when they click over to the Monthly tab, it is also filtered for the same asset. Hope that makes sense.
Ignore my previous message. I'm not sure what you want is possible since each sheet is using a separate data source; sorry I can't help more with this one.
No worries, thanks for taking a look. I am afraid you may be a right about it not being possible but I am hopeful. That is why I posted here with the Tableau experts.
