I wonder if a calculation that counts rows for each date within chosen calendar period is what you need?
IF [Notification date] >= [Period Start] AND [Notification date] <= [Period End] THEN 1 END
IF [Purchase date] >= [Period Start] AND [Purchase date] <= [Period End] THEN 1 END
If the ID itself should exist (being not null), this condition can be added to the formulas.
