chris.shaw Dec 10, 2013 7:19 AM (in response to Vania Turner)Hi Vania,
I couldn't open your workbook - can you extract the data and run the workbook from the tde?
To answer your questions though;
- If you drag the field containing 'PCT' onto the Marks menu onto colour, you can specify colours for each value.
- Need to see workbook to comment.
Thanks
Chris

chris.shaw Dec 12, 2013 5:10 AM (in response to Vania Turner)Hi Vania,
You can set all other columns to be the same colour so that only the desired column is blue.
I have to admit I'm stuck on point 2, but I believe if you upgrade to Tableau 8.1 you can create total columns with a different calculation to the rest of the table (i.e. averages in the total column and sums in the body of the table) so it may be worth investigating this.
Thanks
Chris

Vania Turner Dec 12, 2013 7:21 AM (in response to chris.shaw)Thanks for the your reply.
I don't see how you can set all the other columns to be the same color.. can you please allaborate.
I solved the second part of my problem. with a parameter and two calculations. let me know if you'd like to see it.
thanks,
Vania

Eric Munisteri Dec 12, 2013 7:55 AM (in response to Vania Turner)Viana,
To solve the 'A' in your original post, simply move the "Measure Names" pill to Color. From Measure Names, you should see ABC and PCT...edit colors from there. I used dark gray and blue, because black is not available unless you create a custom color palette.

Vania Turner Dec 12, 2013 11:55 AM (in response to Vania Turner)Eric thanks, Ι copied the "measure names" to color. It was simple enough....
Chris, I've attached my solution. I've created a parameter for Year where the user can enter the first year for the comparison. Then I have some calculations (which depend on the parameter year) including the % of total for the whole thing.
Let me know if you need any clarifications.
cheers,
Vania.
