i added a chart from another workbook via bookmark, and am trying to keep the data intact on the same sheet, but the filter is only working for the shared dimension (blue), even though the criteria (i.e., selection: all + wildcard: contains "trial") are met for second data source too. is there any way to overcome this limitation with the filter? and if so, can i then combine the two charts on the left into a single bar chart?
the data sources have identical fields, but too many fields for union, join, etc. and is an excel workbook (xlsx).
James - You should post a .twbx file. In lieu of that, I suspect you are expecting a union join, which isn't how blending works. You could create discrete measures for each category in both primary and secondary sources, then add those to your single view. I'm just guessing on this approach because there are too many unknowns without a .twbx file.
