Not 100% sure what you mean -- when you mean different shading, do you mean things like different "patterns" inside the bars (like crosshatches):
Or maybe Gradients (darker to lighter blue fill inside the bars) ?:
In both cases, no. This is consdidered "chart junk" and not something Tableau supports (on purpose, btw).
Tableau does support color transparency, however.
Maybe you can post a screenshot of what you're thinking about? So I/we can be sure you have the right answer?
Just see the attachment and let me know if this is what you are looking for? Else, come up with a workbook and we can have a look.
Thanks Russel and Murali. i mean to have bar 1 blue, bar2 +75% transparency, bar3 +50% transparency, bar5 +75% transparency etc.. is this possible? Thanks
Hi, I hope you have gone through my workbook that I attached thoroughly, can you tweak the bar colors there by accessing the color shelf of that particular measure. Currently, it should be in two colors, which you can get into your desired color and also the steps (here it is 3). However, these are driven by data and with the right data you will be able to see the patterns.
Pl. note that repeating the % of transparency may be a challenge unless you consider a different view and place it next to each other on the Dashboard!
I would like to see if there are more possibilities from others like coloring through Cal. on the level of Transparency, etc..
