Tableau requires 32 bit drivers, please check if you have correct driver(s) installed on Tableau machine.
By the way, what is the output of
Please try to use DSN connection if is working on GENERIC ODBC CONNECTION tabeau's window, don't choose Driver.
I am using that Generic ODBC driver .
And when I am pointing to DSN of Oracle Timesten , Tableau is being crashed.
1)Open Tableau Desktop 8.0
2)Click on Connect to Data
--> Other Database(ODBC)
3) Used same DSN test_tt_client --> connect
It gave following error:
In 2nd scenario if I select Driver (instead of DSN) and then TimesTen Data Manager 11.2.2
After entering UID it gave following error:
Once we click OK tableau get crashed.
And we we select Driver as TimesTen Client 11.2.2 then it gives same error as Case 1.
We will need to work with you to determine the cause of this failure, which may originate within the Oracle driver itself. Please contact our excellent Support team (firstname.lastname@example.org) so they may work with you to collect log files, crash dumps, etc. They may be able to work with you to craft a workaround, either within Tableau (via a TDC file) or within the driver / DSN configuration. For example, you may find that adjusting settings such as the driver ConnectionCharacterSet to be UTF8 or UTF16 resolves the problems with driver instability.
I have sent another email to support ID.
We are also in same boat to connect tableau to oracle times ten database.
Is there any Luck in getting this connected?
Do you have idea how this issue has been resolved?
