Frustrated working with multiple independent tables - is there a better way?

I'm just getting started with Tableau.  I have a database with multiple independent tables and want to build a Tableau workbook that shows information from those tables.  There are no relationships between the tables (i.e., nothing upon which to join).  It appears that I have to load each of these tables in as a distinct data source.  This seems cumbersome.  I've got about a dozen of them and this means I need to configure the data source for each one.  And then to enable working offline would I also need to have multiple data extracts that all need to be updated (and then distributed?) independently?

Is there a better way to deal with multiple (independent) tables?  Am I missing something?
