Shawn Wallwork Jan 7, 2013 4:23 PM (in response to Ria Pleta)Hi Ria.
Well yes, sort of. Question: Do you currently own a Tableau license? Or is this a hypothetical question?

3. Re: International Zipcodes within a specific radius
Shawn Wallwork Jan 8, 2013 9:34 AM (in response to Ria Pleta)OK, I fairly certain that Tableau only 'supports' US zipcodes, but if you have the latitude and longitude for your zipcodes then you won't have any trouble mapping them. Once you've done that, Richard has a workbook he developed to show/hide those marks based on a given radius -- not sure if he posted it or not. Let us know about the lat/long question.

5. Re: International Zipcodes within a specific radius
Shawn Wallwork Jan 8, 2013 10:46 AM (in response to Ria Pleta)Ria great! Good thing you posted the screen shot, because now I know that the first thing you're going to need to do is convert your lat/longs from deg/minutes to decimal degrees. You have two choices 1) Go to this KB article and work out the formula in your spread sheet or 2) Go to this page and use the Batch Converter.
When you get that done, post the excel file (delete any sensitive data, all we really need is City & the lat and long columns. What's your deadline for this? I ask because I believe Richard may be travelling and might not be available for a bit.

8. Re: International Zipcodes within a specific radius
Ria Pleta Jan 8, 2013 10:59 AM (in response to Shawn Wallwork)My deadline is next Monday. Do you think Richard would be available by then? The goal is to create a points of presence map. Basically displaying companies within a 300 mile radius of each headquarters. Once I get the Lat/Long converted, do you have any suggestions on how the remaining data needs to be laid out?

9. Re: International Zipcodes within a specific radius
Shawn Wallwork Jan 8, 2013 11:20 AM (in response to Ria Pleta)Ria, did you take a look at that link Alex posted? Is that going to work for you? As to other data, it would be best if you post an Excel file with some sample data so we can see what you're talking about.

Shawn Wallwork Jan 8, 2013 3:36 PM (in response to Alex Kerin)Alex, I've attached his sample data with the lat/longs converted. You know your radius workbook, you want to do the honors?
Ria, the reason the Batch Converter didn't work for you was you misspelled "Latitude".
