Are you using landscape for the page layout?
There are two different locations where I can specify a page 'layout'.
First, under "Print Scaling" - "Page Orientation" (as in the screenshot above), there is an option to choose Portrait or Landscape.
Second, when I choose "File" - "Print to PDF", there is an additional selection under Paper Size for Portait or Landscape.
I have tried making these match and setting these differently. All 4 combinations (PP,LL, PL, LP) end up with the same problem. No matter how I setup the dashboard, it doesn't fit the entire page in the PDF.
I can send the actual report, but I would need to remove any confidential portions of the data.
Are there any general errors that I could be making?
I have attached a zip file with
- the report I created
- the data extract (with all identifiable info removed)
- pdf of portait (does not fill the page)
How can I force the report to take up the entire page of the pdf (either portrait or landscape)?

I have the exactly same issue. Most people I work with are not happy with me changing the reports from ppt and xls to Tableau because it's not ready to print! Please help!
Did you ever find a fix for this?- I am having the same issues as a new user.
Matt and all others,
It seems that the only way to fit the paper's page (letter or A4) is a cumbersome workflow.
o in MS Word (or your word processing software) create your own layout, based on table(s)
o export graphs/diagrams with .emf extension (or use copy in tableau and paste special in word and choose Picture)
o import graphs in word template
o save/export as .pdf
I am not aware of any improvement on this matter, maybe version 9.0 which is just around the corner will contain a better way of handling printing functionality.
That helps a lot Ville - although I still have some blank space at the bottom of the page. Definitely better though!
Beautiful! Thank you!!!
Yay! I've been trying to solve this problem too, and it works beautifully.
This is good however it seems we have to do this on all the dashboard sheets. Margins cannot be set globally for all the sheets in the workbook.

Well you can just select all dashboards and then just edit page setup and all those dashboards will have same settings.
