Hi Joe , nice trick
Hi there -
The workbooks here have been very helpful in allowing me to manipulate data I have to get YTD comparisons, growth numbers etc.
I'd like to take this a step further than pure YTD comparisons...I would like to be able to get a comparison of the last 12 months (say September 2010 to August 2011) and compare that 'sum' with the previous 12 months (September 2009 to August 2010).
I think this probably involves parameters...can this be shown, perhaps using the 'crosstab_ytd' workbook that Joe has used above?
Without knowing the exact logic (and it can be very nuanced), I made the attached. Like you said this can also be done with parameters, but again, I would need more details on the exact logic you want to use.
The sample data does not have data to today. you are welcome to provide sample data in a packaged workbook if this does not fit your situation.
