The easiest way to access this info is to use the Admin Insights feature. Tableau creates a default project, which you can then use to create your own vizzes/dashboards from. It is very useful and I personally refer to it frequently.
Mine is already enabled, but yours should say something like "Enable Admin Insights."
Hello GRAHAM KELLER,
Thank you for the reply.
Is this for Tableau Online?, If yes I don't see that option in my trial instance, Can you please provide me the detailed steps? And once we enable that how we get that information, is that using REST API or querying the database?
I need that information for all the views in the tableau online.
I see. It may not be an available feature for trial. It is located under the Site Status (which you may not have available in trial). I'm using Tableau online for this. The only requirement is you must have Admin privileges.
Here is a link with more details on how to use Admin Insights. Use Admin Insights to Create Custom Views - Tableau
It's probably not showing because of the trial, or because you need Admin access.
I personally use it for creating my own dashboards on how/when people are using Tableau Dashboards.
TS Events - TS Events is an extract data source that functions as a master audit data source. It contains data about the various events happening on your site, including sign-ins, publishes, and accessed views
TS Users - TS Users is an extract data source that contains data about your users such as remaining licenses, site roles, and workbooks and views owned by a user.
This is what the data connections look like:
What is the source of this data used in dashboards?
Is it an extract from the Database ?
If Yes which tables you are taking?
Please provide the following info.
Any help here?
The data is from the PostGres database that underlies Tableau Online. He's not using any "tables", he's using the published data sources that are made available to you when you enable that feature on Tableau Online.
Just Google it and you'll see the info.
