Tableau Server offline activation is a manual process that requires the admin to create a file, upload the file to Tableau, save an activation file from Tableau, and then run a tabadmin command with the activation file. This process is required for Server machines that have no external access to the Internet - which is quite common in a corporate Setting. This process must be repeated for groups of 10 server licenses, making it tedious and potentially error prone.
But Tableau Server is accessible to machines that do have internet access, for example, a laptop inside the companies Firewall.
I'd like to propose that the offline activation process be migrated to an online, in browser, process, where Tableau Server can use the internet connection of the client system.
