Dear Tableau Community,

It’s a new day for data! We’re so excited to share that we are launching a new product, announcing new offerings, and releasing our latest software update today!

Three big things happening:

Tableau Prep (formerly Project Maestro) empowers more people to get to analysis faster by helping them quickly and confidently combine, shape, and clean their data. Check out the Community Forum Space: Tableau Prep and see it in action here: Tableau Prep: A new data preparation solution

Tableau’s new offerings designed to deliver the right capabilities to the right people – and at the right price, which creates more value for our customers than ever before.

And don’t forget about all the 2018.1 features. Check them out here.

But don't just take it from us, our CMO Elissa Fink wrote a great blog post about this exciting launch. Read it in full here: Tableau celebrates a new day for data

Join the celebration!

+ Our new offerings are making it easier to empower everyone with data—and that means our data family is growing. To celebrate, we want you to highlight YOUR data family—whether it’s a data mentor, a colleague, or even that amazing software you love, we want to take this moment to celebrate everyone and everything that helps you see and understand your data.

     + Here's how to participate:

          1. Pick photos of you and your data family - these could be selfies or group photos from User Groups, conferences, or your daily life ... the list goes on and on!

          2. Choose from one of the attached #DataFam filters and add it to your photos - like the example below!

             3. Share these photos with the hashtag #DataFam on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Hi Tableau Community!

This week I am writing from the great city of Dublin, Ireland, working out of one of our remote Tableau offices. Mainly hosting our awesome support team for our Tableau gurus in the European, Africa, and Middle East theatres.

Although I am writing from Europe this week. I wanted to highlight a Viz from about my home country that discusses a topic that is on everyone's minds in any rapidly expanding country. How are people going to afford to live in these rapidly changing areas with costs constantly rising no matter where you go. Chris Herron with help from The Eviction Lab created the Viz below that explores the evictions of US Households since 2001. Check out the rest of Chris' work and follo him on Tableau Public: Tableau Public| Chris Herron or follow him on Twitter, Chris Herron (@chrisherrondata) | Twitter .

+ Another phenomenal Viz I would like to share is one on European Public transport and rail stations. This amazing Viz was created by Daniel Caroli. Check out all his amazing work and follow him on Tableau Public: Tableau Public | Daniel Caroli

Hi Tableau Community!

This week we are excited to highlight the winning vizzes for Iron Viz Europe 2018! We loved following the chatter and camaraderie on Twitter and across the community and were incredibly impressed by the caliber of entries. You are all truly amazing analysts and storytellers!

From the topic of "European Cities" 29 entries were submitted. Out of those entries, three amazing vizzes rose to the top! Daniel Caroli's Metro Systems in European Cities, Klaus Schulte's Affordable Housing in Larger German Cities, and Sarah Bartlett's European Cities on a Budget. The authors of these three vizzes have each won a trip to London in July for Tableau Conference Europe where they will battle it out on the big stage for European Iron Viz Championship! You can read all about the scoring categories and process on the Tableau Public blog. Congratulations!

Hello Tableau Community!

Hopefully you did not get fooled by any online pranks or mischievous fake ads yesterday as parts of Europe and the U.S. celebrated April Fools' Day. One mischievous man I grew up watching was Kramer in the NBC show about nothing, Seinfeld (1989-1998). There were dozens of classic episodes in this series that ran for almost 10 years and captivated millions. One of the greatest episodes created, as noted in kevin flerlage's Viz "Kramer's Lollipop", explores this infamous episode. Open the Viz in a browser to hear that classic Seinfeld opening song play as you explore this data!
