It's the most wonderful time of the year and the most wonderful time of the week (?!). It's time for this week's edition of the Community Digest and to take a peek into what's been happening around the community -

No major announcements this week. So instead, I'd like to share a quick way for you to find the places you belong to or have recently visited in the Tableau Community. Click on your avatar in the upper right corner when you are logged into the community, then click on "Your Places."

You'll be brought to a list of the places you are following. However, you can change what is shown here by clicking on the different options to the left:

Last week, Esther Aller, a member of the Tableau technical support team, achieved the "Questions for Breakfast!" badge. That means that at least 25 of her responses have been marked as correct! She joined Tableau this past February and quickly signed up for the community. She has had a major impact already! Thank you for all your help, Esther!

puspak Agasti also is making moves. He achieved the "I Know Stuff!!" badge - 10 of his answers were marked as correct. Though Puspak has been a member of the community for awhile now - lately, he's been hanging around and providing some great answers. He is always providing screenshots, and details to help people get answers to their questions.

Most Talked About Thread

**This is characterized by the number of responses in a thread

siva goberu asked his first question in the Tableau forums with Remaining days calculation  (Start date and End date).  Siva received help from a couple of people - Shanaka Gunaratna originally helped by showing Siva how to use parameters and calculated fields. However, the solution was close, but was giving the total number of days between the two dates in the parameter, as opposed to the remaining days. He then worked with Tableau kumar and Norbert Maijoor. Norbert worked closely with Siva to get all of his follow up questions answered.

(One of the) Top Viewed Threads

This past week, one of the top viewed threads was started by Cathy Bridges back in 2014 where she was asking about options to Export Dashboards to PowerPoint. Ben Neville gave the solution of using Tableau Server or Tableau Online. However, as others noted, Tableau Server or Online are not always an option. Steve Martin provided a solution from within Powerpoint. Cristian Vasile suggested running a script - which though it didn't help Cathy, it did help Isu Wickramasinghe.

Top Voted Idea

Jodie Helfer created Pattern Filled Visualizations last week - and it has already received 30 up votes. It's a simple idea that could prove to be very powerful. Zen Masters, Joshua Milligan and Shawn Wallwork think so too.

In Other News

I hope everyone has a happy holiday! The Tableau Community team will be out of the office on Friday.

Until next week, happy analyzing!
