Happy Tuesday all - and hopefully you had a great long weekend if you're in the States! Here's what was going on last week:

Announcements

Last week we had our biggest turnout for a Think Data Thursday ever - over 240 people! Thank you to Craig Bloodworth, Joshua Milligan, Bora Beran and Bethany Lyons for hosting the TDT: LoD of the Rings - May 21, 2015. It was a great session - I think everyone learned something on the call! If you missed it, you can watch the recording found in the above link.

At the end of last week's TDT, the next one was also announced. Join us June 18th, for TDT: Getting the Most Out of Tableau Server on June 18th, 2015 with Paul Banoub, Toby Erkson, Mark Jackson and Jeff Strauss. Definitely a good one to check out!

Interested in learning "How to Excel Using Tableau"? Check out the Talk Data to Me webinar this Thursday at 10 AM PDT.

This is a heads up that in the near future the gaming/point structure of the Community will be changing. More to come next week.

Recognition

Two people achieved the "I Know Stuff!" badge (10 responses marked as correct) - Rody Zakovich and Felix Curran. Rody joined the Community at the beginning of the year in January and has helped out quite a bit. He's even contributed to the Tableau Workbook Library and The specified item was not found., adding a document to each!

Felix just joined the Community back in March and has been making a fast impact. He's helped several people already. Thank you Rody and Felix for all your contributions to the Community!

Ari Bibas asked Difficult (I guess..) : show total as a mere calculation of above rows where he was having an issue getting the correct total. Shine Pulikathara and Matt Lutton helped Ari with an example workbook. However, the solution wasn't as easy as they originally thought since Ari's workbook was using multiple data sources. Shine was able to provide a solution that used a running sum to get him close to the results.

dan.upton asked How to pull table results from one worksheet into another? Joe Oppelt worked with Dan going through a number of iterations in order to compare a client's results to their competitor's results. Ultimately, it looks like filter actions are what got Dan the results he was looking for. Dan, can you mark the response that helped you the most as correct?

Last week an old thread emerged as one of the most viewed threads, but the issue is something people still have trouble with. Marcus Shane asked about Conditional Formatting back in 2009. Joe Mako provided a couple of ideas to help with Marcus's particular question. For anyone who runs into this, Jonathan Drummey's blog post Conditional Formatting | Drawing with Numbers always helps with conditional formatting.

I'm changing this portion of the Digest up a little, as we keep seeing many of the same pages show up to the top - i.e. Grow your own Filled Maps | Tableau Support Community, New Features in Tableau 9+?, and Johan's Ideas Collections | Tableau Support Community.

Last week, Jonathan Marcus's   The Google Maps Embed API must be used in an iframe. was among the highest view thread. Most likely because Chris Sayers posted a potential solution that he found a couple of weeks ago.

Tableau's Nicholas Hara created Easier Editing of Custom Color Palette last Thursday and already has fourteen votes. This is definitely something that I have run into as needing to be easier!

noor.khemji asked a question related to getting duplicates in his data when joining two tables in summing a column in a joint table having duplicate records. Pooja Gandhi quickly responded with a couple of Knowledge Base articles. However, it wasn't until Noor posted a sample workbook that Cyril Belmehdi and Jonathan Drummey were able to help Noor out. It originally looked like version 9.0 and LOD expressions were the route to take, but after a second glance, using the second pass total seemed to have solve the answer. noor.khemji, if one of these solved the issue, please mark it correct!
